Ceramic Coating in Seattle, WA

Ceramic coating surface detail — Prestige Marine & Auto Care in Seattle, WA

What Is Ceramic Coating?

Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that bonds to your vehicle's paint at a molecular level, forming a hard, glass-like layer over the clear coat. Unlike wax, it does not wash away or break down after a few weeks.

We apply SystemX ceramic coating, which cures into a hydrophobic surface: water, dirt, and road grime bead up and slide off instead of sticking, which makes every wash after it faster and easier.

The coating also adds a layer of UV and chemical resistance, so paint holds its color and gloss longer against sun exposure, bird droppings, and bug splatter.

Seattle's rain, road film, and tree sap go to work on a clear coat the moment it leaves the lot. Waxing every few months slows that down for a while and then you're back where you started.

Ceramic coating is a one-time application that keeps working year after year. We bring the equipment to your driveway, your office lot, or wherever the vehicle sits, so there is no shop visit and no drop-off.

Our Ceramic Coating Process

  1. 01

    Inspection

We walk the vehicle in good light and note any swirls, scratches, or oxidation before we plan the job.

  2. 02

    Decontamination

A hand wash, clay bar treatment, and iron removal strip away everything a normal wash leaves behind.

  3. 03

    Correction, If Needed

Light polishing addresses minor imperfections so the coating goes down over a clean, level surface.

  4. 04

    Coating Application

SystemX ceramic coating goes on panel by panel, with each layer leveled before it cures.

  5. 05

    Cure and Final Check

We give the coating time to cure, then run a water test and a full walkaround before handing the vehicle back.

Why Ceramic Coating Matters in Seattle

Seattle drivers deal with nine months of rain, road film, and grit thrown up from wet highways. Paint without protection dulls fast under that kind of exposure.

A coated vehicle sheds that grime instead of holding onto it, which means fewer trips to wash it and less time spent scrubbing off things that would otherwise etch into the clear coat.

If your paint already has swirl marks or oxidation, our paint correction service is worth doing first, so the coating goes down over paint that is already at its best.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does ceramic coating last?

It depends on the coating tier applied. Our shorter option is built for one to two years of protection, and our longer option is built to last around five years with proper care.

Do I need paint correction before coating?

Not always. If your paint already has visible swirls or oxidation, we recommend correcting it first so the coating seals in a clean, level surface rather than locking in existing damage.

Will ceramic coating stop scratches?

It adds a harder layer than bare clear coat and helps resist light swirling, but it will not prevent a deep scratch from a key or a rock chip.

How soon can I wash the vehicle after coating?

We ask that you avoid washing it for at least a week so the coating has time to fully cure. We will walk you through care instructions before we leave.

Do you coat wheels and glass too?

Yes. Wheel faces and glass are included in the application so the whole vehicle sheds water and grime evenly, not just the painted panels.

Is someone needed at home during the appointment?

Not necessarily, as long as we can access the vehicle and it can sit undisturbed through the application and cure time.
